Customer Conveyance Updates Increase Efficiency

Published 3/6/25

We’re thrilled to share some upcoming enhancements (available mid-March) to the Customer Conveyance* Report that will provide essential information for recognizing accounts that may have been inaccurately conveyed, facilitating more informed management actions.

New Report Columns:

  • Date
  • Previous Customer Name
  • Name Similarity Score

By including the account’s previous name and the similarity score, these new columns can help identify recent conveyances that might warrant actions such as reversing a conveyance. This is especially useful because, prior to the February updates, slight changes to the account name (e.g., spelling, punctuation) could have triggered Auto Conveyance even though ownership did not change.

Last month’s advancements, combined with the new report updates, will significantly reduce and help identify unnecessary conveyances. The report will now seamlessly showcase the most recently conveyed accounts while still offering the option for manual searches. This change maintains flexibility and allows for quicker and more efficient management of conveyed accounts.

*Not sure what customer conveyance is?

Conveyance is the process of transferring customer accounts from one entity to another. This is applicable to billers who reuse account numbers when ownership changes.
