Kevin’s Corner: Powering Progress Through Payer Insights
Published 8/7/25
At InvoiceCloud, we know the best innovation starts by listening—especially to the people who rely on our technology every day: bill payers.
This year, we took a closer look at how four unique groups—seniors, Gen Z, in-person payers, and non-English speakers—approach bill payment. The findings from our latest Bill Payer Preferences Report were clear and encouraging: more people are embracing digital payments, and there’s real opportunity to remove the friction that still stands in the way.
Here are just a few highlights:
- 95% of seniors said paying online is easy, and 81% wish they had made the switch sooner
- Over half of in-person payers said they’d consider using a mobile wallet, though only 19% currently do
- And 34% of Gen Z still struggle to time bill payments to their paydays
These insights reinforce what we’ve been hearing from you: people are ready to go digital, especially when the experience is simple, secure, and built with real-life needs in mind.
That feedback has guided several recent enhancements—strengthening the accessibility, usability, and flexibility of the payment experience. Updates include smarter payment reminders, mobile wallet improvements, guest checkout access, and pay-by-text functionality. We’re also modernizing key payer pages, such as the payment summary, receipt page, and navigation menus, with a particular focus on accessibility.
It’s worth noting: these features were shaped by direct input from you. They came from conversations at conferences, in product reviews, during implementations, and through our regular customer engagement. Our roadmap is built collaboratively, with your feedback in mind, to better serve you and your customers.
To drive innovation and deliver meaningful results, we remain focused on being a platform purpose-built for billing and payments rather than a one-size-fits-all solution or an add-on module.
As we continue to grow our team and expand our platform capabilities, that focus remains constant. We’ll keep listening, learning, and building solutions that make your job easier and your customers’ payer experience better.
Thank you for the continued feedback and for the trust you place in us every day.
