Postage Goes Up July 12 — Here’s How to Get Ahead of It
On July 12th, the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp rises again from 78 cents to 82 cents, continuing a climb from 55 cents in 2020. For customers who still mail in paper checks, that’s a cost they feel directly. For you, it’s a natural opening to let those customers know there’s an easier way.
Paying online doesn’t require stamps and takes less time than writing a check — plus, customers get immediate confirmation that their payment is scheduled or posted. No more wondering if the check they wrote actually arrived. Customers who haven’t made the switch often just need a concrete reason to try it — and a stamp price increase is exactly that.
The Marketing Resource Center Has What You Need
The MRC has brand new assets designed to help move customers toward digital payments following this postage increase, including bill inserts, in-office posters, and social media graphics.
Inserts and posters reach customers at the moment they’re thinking about their bill; social graphics keep the reminder visible between billing cycles. Simply type “postage prices” in the search box.
Here’s a sample of the new pieces:

A Note on Your Own Postage Costs
The rate increase affects your budget, too. If you’re still mailing paper statements, the roughly 4.8% increase across mailing services adds up fast.
